Loaders Lane Shared Pedestrian Cycle Bridge, Coffs Harbour NSW

Loaders Lane

Teleo Design was engaged by Coffs Harbour Council to design and construct a shared pedestrian/cycle bridge connecting Loaders Lane and William Sharpe Drive. This is to open up access to the West Coffs City Parkland under development at the time of the construction of this bridge.

The bridge is designed as a trussed arch spanning 32m with a 2.5m wide FRP deck. The barriers are galvanised steel modular units. Civil works were carried on site for the screw piles and footings during fabrication of the bridge. Works needed to clear existing services including fibre optic cabling and storm water piping.

The bridge was manufactured off site in Port Macquarie and delivered to site as one piece ready for install. Once on site the bridge was installed early in the morning with minimal impact to the community and environment. Approach paths were then completed by council to provide a smooth access for the public.
