On the Cowwarr Rail Trail between the township and the Thomson River is a charming low-rise 12m boardwalk. The boardwalk provides passage after rain events over a stormwater channel.

Teleo was delighted to provide the design and detail as part of our consultancy engagement for the rail trail bridges project, and provided a design which fitted seamlessly into the bushland environment.

 

Creating the deck from FRP minimesh allows for dappled light to filter through to the plants underneath the structure, an added bonus for the surrounding environment.

 

The FRP decking also ensures a non-slip surface for cyclists and hikers alike, a surface which has proven itself throughout various rain events since installation.
