Hungry Point Cliff Top Boardwalk, Cronulla NSW

Teleo Design was engaged by our client Green Civil Services to provide inspection and design certification services for the construction works along the extension of the Cronulla Esplanade walk in Hungry Point Reserve.
These works are being undertaken for Sutherland Shire Council, with a view to providing greater public access through the culturally rich expanse of the reserve, whilst maintaining and respecting the heritage and history of the reserve.
Green Civil designed the expansive walkways, access stairs and viewing platforms in collaboration with Council to maximise enjoyment of the views and natural environment. Reinforced concrete footings were poured under the supervision of Teleo engineers, with a galvanised steel structure being laid as the backbone of the snaking walkways.
Deckings are a combination of FRP and timber, with Council being mindful of their preferred aesthetic, alongside the competing needs for both durability and slip-resistant surfaces.
Designing and constructing using this combination of materials has created a structure which sits lightly on the environment whilst providing the durability and longevity expected by Council and the wider community.
Bush regeneration and remedial landscape works were undertaken as each component was completed.
Teleo is proud to be a part of this ambitious landmark project, which will ensure the reserve remains safe and accessible to all for the foreseeable future.
