Teleo Design is proud to have collaborated with our client Civil Collective as the primary designer of gabion walls for a number of their developments, notably the Putney Hill Development (Stages 1 and 2).

The initial stage required the design and certification of single wall ranging in height from 1m to 5m, and supported on a shale foundation.

The landscaping at the top of the wall was to incorporate and retain the established trees, as well as then supporting irrigated gardens and pedestrian access paths.

Teleo provided a complete set of detail drawings for both the layout and manufacture of the gabions, which included plans, long sections and a 3D arrangement, along with cross sections providing subsoil drainage management details.

The second stage of works required 14 additional gabion retaining walls, from 6m in length to 80m, with heights up to 4m, tiered to manage and tame the existing ground slope. Ultimately these walls were incorporated into the terraced landscaping of the development, blending seamlessly into the paths and gardens throughout the entire structure.
