Chatswood Bridge Roof Canopy, Sydney, NSW

Canopy Bridge

The Pacific Highway through Chatswood in the northern suburbs of Sydney, is one of the busiest roads in Australia. Teleo Design was engaged to support the fabricator to replace the roof over the pedestrian bridge connecting the primary school with public transport. The framing was delivered in 6 segments to cover the escalators, stair towers and 2 pieces to span the highway.

The bridge crosses 6 lanes of traffic and is connected at both sides by a stair tower and escalator. The framing was galvanised steel and delivered in large elements, the largest being 7m wide. All steelwork deliveries and installation works were completed during night works as the highway needed to remain open at all times.

Teleo provided construction support during assembly to verify construction was compliant with the project specifications. This included night supervision during critical lifts.
